Welcome from the Mercy Health Foundation CEO

As nature springs to life, we bring you fresh news stories from our donor community.

Rebecca MacFarling, CEO, Mercy Health Foundation

As I put away my winter coats and leather boots, I welcome the warm breeze of a new season. There are so many sunny days ahead for Mercy Health Foundation as we enter the latter half of 2024.

My sincere and heartfelt thanks to you for donating to medical care for premature and sick babies and children at Mercy Health in our recent mid-year appeal.

In our previous newsletter we shared the story of Shae and Makenzie and their journey at Werribee Mercy Hospital’s Mother Baby Unit (MBU). I am delighted to say, thanks to your generous donations, the MBU has been able to purchase six brand-new cots. Thank you for investing in mothers, their mental wellbeing and their babies.

The story of baby Lenny is one I hope you feel pride in knowing your donations have helped make his life possible. Your continued support for Mercy Perinatal and its care and research. Your generosity has helped people, like Kerryn, fulfil a life-long dream of becoming a mother. Thank you.

We have so much to look forward to as we embark on the final months of 2024.

You can support Mercy Perinatal by attending our Silver Wattle Gala Ball co-hosted by the Foundation and the Mums of Mercy on Saturday 19 October at the Sofitel on Collins, Grand Ballroom. I hope to see you on the dance floor!

We also invite our Werribee community to support our Maternity Unit Mingle on Friday 15 November at Werribee Mansion. Mingle with clinicians and past patients to raise funds for Werribee Mercy Hospital’s Maternity Unit.

Wishing you sunny days ahead.

Making motherhood a reality for everyone

The birth of Kerryn and Emerson’s baby boy, Lenny, was made possible thanks to the team at Mercy Perinatal.  Mercy Perinatal’s three pillars of clinical care, research and education, meant specialists were able to look deeper into what could be achieved with their help.   Rather than accepting that it wouldn’t be possible, the Mercy Perinatal...
